Unable to assign "Role" to User

I am having a slight problem.
I am trying to assign a role to a user; but, for some reason, my IDM is
not displaying the "list of roles" which I already created.
I created a new "IT Role" (please note : this is "Role", not "Admin
Role"). The main purpose of my new IT Role is to restrict certain
administrators to only specific Resources.
However, when I try to assign the Role to a user, IDM does not display
the list of Roles.
I have created two different IT Roles (each of which restricts access to
specific Resources); so, they should be displayed in my Tabbed User
Form (under "Roles"......"IT Roles").
But, they are not showing. |

Each object in IDM is declared to be available to a list of organizations when it is created. Also, every administrator account is created to control a list of organizations. From a security-perspective, an administrator should only be able to manage objects under his/her control.. this is exactly what IDM does.
In your case, check if "IT Role" is available to that organization which is under the administrator's control, whom you tried to log in as.
Let us know if this was the issue you are facing

Hi,
thanks.
I'm using verion 8.1
I already tried to solve the problem by creating a Business Role, and
then "including" my IT-Role inside that Business Role.
I was able to assign this Role to a User. However, it still didn't
help. The IT Role was supposed to restrict the user to specific
Resources. But, it didn't work.

Hi,
The approach is right to assign IT Role into a Business Role and then assigned this to user. This will assign the IT Role to user that contains the resource information or you can say resource will also assign to the user. But that will not restrict user to assign any other resource.
you have to restrict users by writing some code like if user has this IT Role none other resource can be assigned.
Thanks
